The style is identical to Code Geass and the idea behind it is quite modern - the disparity between espers and normals. Now this is quite an old one - seeing as it's been 8 years. I don't think it's ever taken me this long to finish a 12 episode season. No second season is confirmed but I can only hope. Surprisingly I think the second season of this has the potential to be significantly better - I say this because of the addition of new characters and the change in values for the main character.
I think the obvious necessary intro to the world/game is just rough but makes the rest much more interesting in contrast. The show gets so much more interesting with the introduction of events and more players. The difference from episode 1 and 2 is fucking ridiculous. There were some redeeming points to the story, but when your biggest plot twist is sticking out going, “LOOK AT ME, I’M A PLOT TWIST!”, you start to go, “I would be more surprised if they didn’t pull that plot twist.” And I guess it goes without saying, but the main guys do not end up together despite some of the hints they dropped.This was a show I watched the first episode when it came out but frankly the intro just didn't hook me so I dropped it.

I didn’t even bother watching the parent series of this spinoff because it’s not needed, and after watching one episode of it, I wouldn’t be able to sit through the rest of it. I’ve heard Junichi Suwabe portray other characters better because there was more substance in those other characters. I’m not the greatest fan of Kouji Yusa, but it’s mostly because I don’t like his voice. Cowboy Bebop looks better than it despite being almost a decade-and-a-half older. I thought this anime was older than it was because I wasn’t that impressed by the visuals. This was also done by Manglobe which went bankrupted shortly after Gangsta aired. In the end this was fun to watch and neat to see all the different species tho not something you can just offhandedly recommend or talk about - ironically this will be my review and rating:
The super pretty, well done intermission art cracks me up. I like the concept, very fun to watch, tho I have no interest in large anime tiddies, they feel unnecessarily large for 95% of this show. I completely understand why it was removed from funimation - no clue how they allowed it on there in the first place. She mentioned it was ecchi but like, this is straight porn for some parts. This was a show I watched the first episode when it came out but frankly the intro just didn't hook me so I dropped it.
